We walk on marked paths around a mountain. At the beginning we pass “Smuggler’s Bay” and check for goods that have been snuck ashore. We stop a few times to enjoy the view over the sea towards the south, east and north. Depending on the weather, we choose the best rest stop to replenish our energy with a packed lunch or a coffee break. On our way back we walk along the north shore of Lake Klubbsjön, where we may enjoy a refreshing dip in the usually warm water.
Cost: SEK 1500 including guide and 2-5 hikers.

We start at the parking and entrance to Smitingen Havsbad. We walk on a path across smooth cliffs and stone slabs which bear signs from the ice age. We see and feel amazing rock formations, created by the ice and the sea. This environment is just as fun to explore for kids and adults alike. There are plenty of nice spots where we can enjoy a packed lunch or a coffee break.

Difficulty level is determined by the participants. The wild coast has been shaped by sea, ice and man during several thousand years. The view towards the north and the east is spectacular. Ljungö Llighthouse and the Högbonden Island are visible to the north during good weather conditions.

Arrive by your own boat or kayak (available for rent at the Hemsön Island) or add a rented boatride from the Hemsön Island or Härnösand to this hike. You may also arrive by car or bike to the car park near Lövvik, or take the no. 50 bus to Hornöberget bus stop or the Hotell Höga Kusten.
The duration of the hike depends on where we start. A hike to the top of the mountain and back, including a coffee break, is estimated at around 1,5 hours, if we begin at the car park. Stairs are available in especially steep areas. The path is easy once we reach the mountain. Bad knees or terrible stamina require more stops and slower pace, but who is in a hurry? If that is the case we simply reserve a little more time. Outdoor restrooms and a heated cabin are available at the top of the mountain.
Starting from the hotel, this hike takes the whole day. We hike approximately 12 km along the Högakustenleden trail to the Valkallen Mountain and back.

Rocky shore with loose rocks that require good balance as we hike along the coast. The forces of nature determine our scenery – we may gaze at a sea as smooth as glass or watch as the waves come crashing in.
Choose the green trail to enjoy the view and a nice, packed lunch or snack. Add activities at your leisure. Choose the blue or red level to include walking on cliffs and rocks along the shore, according to your preference.
